The designer wanted to create an accessory that resembles the Korean national flower, the hibiscus. She used leftover pieces of Saekdong fabric and denim from a prior season’s pillow collection. The Saekdong is woven by artisans outside of Seoul. It is then combined with denim trim along the edge to balance the Korean American interpretation.
